Hi there, credit union friends!
Happy Fall, ya’ll! 🍂 Even though it is currently 81 degrees in the bay area while I write this, it does not stop me from lighting my apple cinnamon candle, drinking my pumpkin spice latte, and wearing my cozy slippers while I work.
I always think of fall as a great time to slow down, reassess, and reprioritize for the rest of the year.
Hopefully this month’s Marketing Manatee Musings inspires you to do the same, whether it is setting up a holiday event in your community, scheduling a training call to re-inspire your employees, or committing to support a teacher at a school in your area, we are here to aide you in any way that we can!

Girl Scouts Galore: Our friends at GTE Financial sponsored a craft activity at GS Fest, an annual Girl Scouts of West Central Florida Event! 2,300 young troopers ages 6 – 11 crafted to earn one of their badges.
GTE helped hundreds of girls make their own custom duct tape wallets for monthly dues. Using gems, colorful tape and custom GTE-branded Money Mammals Club Stickers, scouts were rewarded with chocolate coins and a remarkably real simulated $50 bill. Scouts could redeem these simulated bills for a chance to win the real thing as a Money Mammals Club sign up bonus.
Additionally, they featured a Money Mammals Club retractable banner, fliers, and stickers at their booth to help promote the program.
As Yasmin Rivera, GTE’s Manager of Marketing Engagement, told us:
“It was a LOT of work!! But so Fun! The Kids ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT – and we love seeing our logo on all their little wallets! 😀”
We loved hearing about GTE’s community event and are so happy that the Money Mammals Club is helping empower youths to save their money!

Are you ready for a fall refresh?: Over the last month, we hosted training calls for branch managers at two of our wonderful Credit Union partners, InTouch and Great Lakes Credit Union. It was great a refresh for everyone involved!
Scheduling these calls not only puts the Money Mammals program at the top of mind for employees, but new hires can familiarize themselves with the program as well. We can even record the calls so anyone at the branch can revisit the information at any time. We want everyone at your credit union to feel inspired by the program and armed with information to help families on their financial wellness journeys.
We especially loved hearing how some employees were inspired to buy The Art of Allowance book to use with their own kids! Our goal is always to empower parents so that they can empower their children.

There is no better time to support teachers in your community: This month we are reminding all of our Credit Union partners that we are rolling out lesson plans for our Adolescent$ video series. These videos are specifically designed for teens and tweens on their financial wellness journeys.
As a former middle school teacher, I can tell you that nothing is better than a prepackaged lesson to use in the classroom. If it includes engaging content with real-life skills that students can take away, I always want to hear about it. In fact, one of my favorite projects that I did with my students was designing their own school from the ground up, including everything from food served in the cafeteria, to class sizes, to what they wish their teachers were like. When asked what classes to offer, at least 80% of groups every year say they want a class that specifically focused on financial literacy. The lessons that go along with our Adolescent$ videos provide just that, so I wish that I had access to these types of resources when I was teaching!
If you are looking for ways to get involved with schools in your community, this is the perfect way to partner with teachers and to help them give their students the types of lessons that they actually want to learn at school.
We already released lesson plan #1 about “saving your money instead of spending it”, and lesson plan #2 on “weighing the cost of every purchase” is now available.
With the holidays coming up and consumer spending being at an all-time high, these video lessons are not only great reminders for our children, but also for ourselves!
Well, friends, I hope you have enjoyed my second edition of Marketing Manatee Musings while Erin is away.
If you have tips of your own to connect with preschoolers, elementary-aged children, or tweens and teens, then feel free to send them our way. We would love to feature YOUR stories about the impact you are making in your communities in our newsletter!
Cheers from this Client Services Chinchilla,
Britney Levin
