Three Cheers for our Credit Union Partners Inspiring Their Communities! 🥳

Hi there, credit union friends!

Britney here, Snigglezoo’s newest Client Services Chinchilla!  I have been learning the ropes as our Marketing Manatee and Client Services Coordi-gator, Erin, has been out on maternity leave.  She has been enjoying her time off with her family’s newest addition, Poppy Adele, and happily adjusting to life as a family of 4.

Speaking of parents, we have added a Parent FAQ Page to our Money Mammals website that answers the most commonly asked questions from our parent community. It is a great place to embark on the money-smart journey with your kids!

Now, let’s jump into some exciting updates from our Credit Union partners.

Joe the Monkey Visits Kindergarten!: We are honored to highlight one of our wonderful partners, SECNY FCU, spreading the word about our Money Mammals program in the community.

Jillian Kerekes, SECNY’s Director of Education Marketing, brought Joe the Monkey Saves for a Goal to her daughter’s kindergarten classroom for a read-aloud earlier this year.  This book is part of a series that Chief Mammal John Lanza wrote to help kids become money smart at an early age.

Jillian’s daughter, Genevieve, had been saving for her pet, and she wanted her mom to read the book so that her classmates could begin to save for their goals, too.

Seeing our books and messages being spread through the community makes us so happy!  Let’s let Jillian’s daughter’s goal of saving for her pet be a reminder to us all to Share and Save and Spend Smart Too!

Youth Savings Week Extravaganza: Another amazing partner, Hockley County School Employees CU, hosted a Youth Saving Week this year, where they promoted all the benefits of young members getting involved and starting a savings account at an early age.

One of their young members, Adleigh, deserves a spotlight this month!  Adleigh is a Baker Extraordinaire, and was able to promote her business at this community event.  What a great way to not only provide the community with delicious treats, but earn some money toward her youth savings account and goals.

During Youth Savings Week, Hockley gave gift bags to every Kid Club member who brought in a deposit that week.  Their name also went into a drawing for local gift cards.

They had about 15 new Kid Club members added to their member base that week!  Way to go, Hockley!

Adolescent$ + Schools = A Perfect Match!: Finally, let’s take a look at how another one of our wonderful Credit Union partners, Louisiana FCU, is using our Adolescent$ videos at schools in their area to promote financial wellness in students.

Kim Bourgeois, Director of Business Development and Community Outreach at LFCU shared the following update with us:

“We partner with several schools in our markets and they rely on our business development team for financial education in the classroom. We’re often invited to speak to the students and the ‘Money Habit’ video series is our go to resource.

The content is relevant, upbeat, and much more engaging than the old slide deck presentation. The students can relate to the scenarios and they inspire open discussions about what they learned. The teachers are also grateful to have access to these resources through our website.”

We couldn’t be happier to hear about how our Adolescent$ videos are making an impact at schools in the community.

Are you using Adolescent$ videos at schools in your area? Ask about our new lesson plans that accompany the videos! We are excited to begin rolling these out.

Well, friends, I hope you have enjoyed this rendition of Marketing Manatee Musings while Erin is away.  If you have tips of your own to connect with preschoolers, elementary-aged children, or tweens and teens, then feel free to send them our way.  We would love to feature YOUR stories about the impact you are making in your communities in our newsletter!

Cheers from this Client Services Chinchilla,

Britney Levin
